At 7 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2017, the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, workers began removing asbestos shingles from a fourplex at 311 Natalen Street in the Mahncke Park Neighborhood. While the workers wore protective gear, nearby neighbors were unprepared and unprotected as the shingles rained down and shattered, releasing asbestos dust as they hit the ground.

The morning of Nov. 12, Bexar County 150th District Court Judge Janet Littlejohn lifted the temporary restraining order allowing the demolition of the KWEX Unvision building. Machines had resumed tearing down the building when local protestors jumped the fences halting the demolition. We took two cameras to the demolition site and gave one to Itza Carbajal, a protestor who was later arrested for jumping the fence.
