City Manager Erik Walsh will share information regarding the Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget with a total of 12 town hall meetings for residents to learn more about the proposed budget and provide their feedback. Residents are invited to submit their budget questions in advance by calling 311, emailing saspeakup@sanantonio.gov, and by using #SASpeakUp on social media.

District 5 City Council candidates Teri Castillo and Rudy Lopez will be participating in a Runoff Debate and a Meet & Greet hosted by the Westside Neighborhood Associations Coalition will be hosting the District 5 City Council Runoff Debate on May 22, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  at 1430 S. Flores St. The meet & greet will follow shortly after the debate from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This event will be held outdoors. Food trucks will be available on site for food or beverage purchases.

Late last year, leaders at the St. James Parish church on San Antonio's South Side decided to take to the streets to find out the issues that were affecting the populace. The results of their research were presented at a community meeting on Monday, May 2. The answers they received ranged from those at the forefront of the nation's issues to those as small as a church group. Two middle school students, 7th grader Francisco Lugo and 8th grader Martha Reyna, spoke of improving their education and not having many after-school activities other school districts provide.
