Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O'Rourke held over 15 student events at college campuses across Texas. According to O’Rourke’s campaign page, each college tour was an opportunity to get registered, get organized, and commit to the work ahead. The nine-member Texas Court of Criminal Appeals is the state’s highest appellate court for all decisions on Texas criminal matters. But its pivotal role in Texas’ legal system does not mean it’s easy for voters to find information on the five candidates running for three seats on the court in November.

Texas voters are about to weigh in on 10 proposed amendments to the state constitution, which deal with everything from retiring law enforcement animals to the state's tax code. Voters in three state House districts will also participate in special elections to fill empty seats.
Early voting begins Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 1. Election Day is Nov. 5.

On the first day of early voting for the Nov. 6 General Election, U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro (TX-20), and Texas State Senator José Menéndez (D-26) called on Bexar County to quickly resolve voting issues, and encouraged voters not to give up.
During a news conference at Las Palmas Library, an early voting site, Castro and Menéndez said problems on Oct. 22, included outdated voting machines with no paper records, system glitches, incorrect voter information, staffing shortages, long lines and a lack of accommodations for disabled voters.
