By Adolfo Pesquera On the same day it agreed to hear arguments in the Hays Street Bridge Restoration Group’s lawsuit against the City of San Antonio, the Supreme Court of Texas ruled against another Texas city in a case with significant similarities.

In a victory for the Hays Street Bridge Restoration Group and its recently deceased founder, Doug Steadman, the Historic and Design Review Commission on March 9 rejected a developer’s proposal to erect a 72-foot-tall apartment building next to the 58-foot-tall Hays Street Bridge. Alamo Beer Company recently announced its commitment to becoming title sponsors for the 4th Alamo City Marathon Challenge. The event will be rebranded as Alamo Beer Company Marathon Challenge. The training series will take place at different locations:  two at LBJ Park on Nacogdoches Road, one at Solers Sports in Helotes, and one at Leon Creek Park. Each race series is designed to increase in distance and prepare runners for a full or half marathon. The Battle of Salado Creek, 5k & 10k will be held on Friday, August 8 beginning at Salado Creek Greenway.
