Did you miss the opening reception for Los Courts? Don't worry! The exhibit will remain on view at the Alazan Community Room (1011 S. Brazos St.) through Friday, October 26th. Exhibit Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. This exhibit was created by the Westside Preservation Alliance and the Esperanza Peace & Justice Center. "Los Courts" documents the history of the Alazan-Apache Courts, San Antonio's oldest and largest public housing development.

To celebrate the sacred spring, the “blue hole” that is the source of the San Antonio River, a local non profit partnered with a group of passionate professional artists to organize “Art of the Sacred Texas Springs,” a month-long exhibit at the Kelso Art Center on the University of Incarnate Word campus. The exhibit which runs from March 9 to April 8, 2018, was organized by Headwaters at Incarnate Word and features 38 artists and more than 60 pieces, including photography, sculpture and painting.

Join NOWCastSA and the San Antonio Public Library on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. as Dr. Edward Westermann examines artistic depictions by survivors of the Holocaust and discusses the insights that the works of art offer as a method for understanding genocide. Westermann's keynote address concludes the 6th annual Holocaust: Learn & Remember month-long commemoration of the Holocaust.

With the annual Stories Seldom Told exhibition, SAY Sí student-artists are challenged to critically examine issues that they feel aren't being addressed in their everyday lives. They are given three months to research and collaboratively create multimedia art installations that express the way they feel about their chosen topic. In previous years, students have explored issues of race, class, mental health and poverty. This year students chose to explore the impact of corporate america on our bodies.

Catherine Lee will present her exhibition "Emergence" in the Main Gallery at Blue Star Contemporary from September 4 - November 9, 2014, with an opening reception Thursday, September 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. After 32 years working in New York and London, Catherine Lee returned to her native state and built a studio in the Texas Hill Country, where her work continues, without the distraction of urban life. Lee has exhibited extensively, abroad and in the United States, having had one-person exhibitions in galleries in major art centers world wide.

Caroline Santa will present her exhibition Code-Mixing in the Project Space at Blue Star Contemporary from September 4 - November 9, 2014, with an opening reception Thursday September 4 from 6-9 pm. Caroline Santa is an artist based in Philadelphia, PA. She holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Pennsylvania and a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Delaware. Her work utilizes drawing and painting on paper in a spontaneous manner, which often becomes sculptural and performative. Santa is a 2007 recipient of The Charles Addams Prize.
