Bubby’s Jewish Soul Food recently reopened and, in celebration of the holiday season, is hosting a Hanukkah community party, on December 18. You can sample sweet and savory foods like latkes and sufganiyot. Feel free to bring your own menorah—and beverage of choice. There will be a community candle lighting. Other activities include Bubby’s 1st annual dreidel tournament, not to mention an ugly Hannukahh sweater contest. The fun and festivities will start at 5:00 p.m.

The Green Spaces Alliances Nature Festival is putting on its 6th Annual Run the River 5k Green Run, on Saturday, November 12, at Mission Park. In addition to the run, there will also be festivities, intended to help connect the community members with nature. It’s guaranteed fun for the whole family. Registration and packet pick-up starts at 8:00 AM. The race begins at 9:00 AM. Entry fee varies depending on day and age.

Fall is finally here, and in celebration of the season, Traders Village is putting on the 5th Annual Corny Maze.
The maze opened up on October 29, but don’t fret. Festivities will continue on for the next month, ending on November 27th. The day pass cost $9.99 for those over the age of two. Children two and under are guaranteed free admission, but this does not include rides. Check their listings for more options.

The 10th Annual Día de los Muertos is a two-day event held at Hemisfair. Activities include altars, processions, workshops, live music, and poetry. It is free admission and open to the public, so bring a friend—or the family. Food and beverages will also be available via local vendors.
