The popular Zumba dance fitness program classes are free and offered in partnership with Health Collaborative, a local network of citizens, community  organizations and businesses. SA2020, the local nonprofit that’s charting San Antonio’s progress in several categories over a decade, said 41 percent of 59 target goals have been achieved or exceeded. That was one of the big takeaways from a DreamWeek luncheon held Jan. 12 at the Witte Museum’s Mays Family Center.

Join this free Family Martial Arts Class at 12 p.m. every Saturday and Monday throughout Aug. It is part of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department's Fitness in the Park series. This year, more than 3,500 area residents will come together to Stop Diabetes® by raising money and walking in Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes on November 8th at the Mission County Park Pavilions, a one-day signature fundraising and awareness walk benefiting the American Diabetes Association. Every dollar raised through Step Out plays an important role in supporting the Association’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro's Fitness Council, MFC, is looking for committed, enthusiastic youth to serve as advocates for healthy eating and active living in their schools and communities.
