Come out to the Institute of Texan Cultures on March 27 for Cultural Conversations. The topic for this conversation will be refugees. A short refugee video will be shown and attendees will be broken off in to small groups. There will be 12 small groups and a total of six topics will be covered. There will be a sampling of foods from different cultures as well.

Joshua Springs Park and Preserve will host this year’s Heal the Soul Train Run to Benefit Kendall County’s Women Shelter. Festivities will begin at 8 a.m. with a shot gun start. This event is suitable for the whole family. There will be a trail for both a 5k and a 10k run through the park. Non-runners can sign up for the 1.4 mile walk through the pastoral grounds. Awards will be presented to the top runners in the male, female and youth groups. This event will also feature music and face paintings, as well as pet adoptions.

When a trusted friend and tortilla connoisseur tells me of a new Mexican food restaurant, I always try to go. So, on his recommendation I ate at Wapo Taco, a restaurant that opened this past summer immediately outside Loop 410 on Babcock.
