The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Antonio will host the 4th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk. All proceeds will directly benefit the people in San Antonio. SVDP programs include food pantries, housing assistance, disaster relief, job training and placement, clothing, transportation and utility costs, thrift stores, home visits, care for the elderly, medicine and youth outreach.

The Food Policy Council of San Antonio (FPCSA), in partnership with the Community Food Security Coalition and Metro Health, is sponsoring the first annual food policy conference in San Antonio. The conference will strive to educate, organize, mobilize and support local community efforts, to reshape our food system into one that works for all of us. Presentations on these topics will include food waste recovery, food justice, federal and state food policies and community garden initiatives.
