The Friends of the San Antonio Public Library are now accepting nominations for their annual Arts & Letters awards, recognizing Bexar County residents who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of the arts and literature, including the visual arts, dramatic arts, musical arts, and any genre of the written arts, including journalism.

Join the Friends of the San Antonio Public Library as they honor three of San Antonio's most outstanding artists: Latino jazz musician Henry Brun, currently working on an Afro-Caribbean project, scheduled to debut at the Carver Cultural Center in 2018. Brun has performed in Mexico, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, as well as across the U.S. He has served as chair of the City of San Antonio Cultural Advisory Board.

Join the Friends of the San Antonio Public Library as they celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Arts & Letters awards by honoring Latino jazz musician Henry Brun, sculptor and light artist Bill FitzGibbons, and mixed-media artist Laurel Gibson! Each year since 1972, the Friends of the San Antonio Public Library have presented the Arts & Letters awards to “recognize and celebrate achievement by individuals who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the arts and letters.”

REPLAY NOW: The San Antonio Public Library will present a draft of its new Strategic Plan to the community during a series of public forums scheduled to obtain public input on the plan. NOWCastSA will webcast one of these forums live on Friday, July 22 from noon to 1 p.m. from the main auditorium of Central Library, located at 600 Soledad St.
