The San Antonio Health Collaborative held a Community Health Town Hall Meeting on April 17, 2017 to talk about access to health care, social determinants of health and how to create healthy communities. Ana Sandoval was the only candidate who came to the event, which was held at Woodlawn Pointe. With about 50 people quietly munching on a surprisingly healthy breakfast, one of San Antonio’s representatives in Washington, D.C., said the onus for a healthier community was on the neighborhoods first.U.S. Rep. Charles Gonzalez, the representative for Texas’ 20th district, gave a brief update on health issues in front of legislators and focused on increasing the health of the community by asking those in attendance to take more responsibility.
