The City of San Antonio is asking for input from the business community and residents to provide their feedback on a proposed ordinance limiting idling of heavy duty vehicles to five minutes. Comments are accepted by letter, phone call, voicemail or e‐mail directed to the City of San Antonio through Tuesday, May 31, 2016. San Antonio has unhealthy levels of ozone that could cause premature death, asthma attacks and heart disease, according to the American Lung Association’s just-released “State of the Air” report. That reinforces the need for regional measures to improve air quality, including an anti-idling ordinance, says San Antonio District 8 City Councilman Ron Nirenberg.
