Finishing the semester strong, one of our interns will be graduating and moving on to become a software engineer for H-E-B.
Jose Garcia, a computer science major from the University of Texas San Antonio, first joined the NOWCastSA team in the summer of 2021 where he worked with data, creating visualizations, maps, and website management.
He says that “My time at NOWCastSA has been nothing short of amazing. I have met so many talented, smart, and caring people who I’ve had the pleasure of working with every week.”

The Center for Civic Engagement, in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid and Enrollment Services, is launching a unique community-based work-study program called Rowdy Corps. The program is a first of its kind at UTSA.
Rowdy Corps is designed to place students in local nonprofits to complete their required work-study hours. The students will receive valuable applied learning experiences in a variety of agency settings, such as child welfare, arts and culture, public communication, adult education, and environmental impact.
