During a visit to the Beacon Hill Community Garden ceramics artist Diana Kersey explains an irrigation technique using "Ollas."  The technique, used in Asia, North Africa and Pre-colonial America for at least two centuries, involves burying small unglazed clay jars filled with water. Over time the water leeches through the still porous clay to irrigate nearby plant-life.
