The Linda Pace Foundation will host an evening of live reading in collaboration with Gemini Ink. Performances will include the theme of love and chance. The event will also premiere the movie Love Lettering by Rivane Neuenschwander. There will be literary poetry and spoken word performances by Alexandra van de Kamp and Diamond Mason.

Making its debut at URBAN-15 during the first weekend of November, Invocation is a new performance art piece by San Antonio artists Erik Bosse (writer, film-maker, and sound artist) and Laurie Dietrich (writer, photographer, and performance artist).

In March 2014, San Antonio’s Inaugural Poet Laureate Carmen Tafolla staged a production entitled “San Antonio, Mi Pueblo” at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, the culminating event in her poet laureate signature series.

New to the 2nd annual San Antonio Book Festival is Literary Death Match where four authors perform their most outstanding writing in less than seven minutes and three all-star judges decide which two writers advance to the finals. Sharp commentary--with audience participation-- determines who is crowned Champion. With special thanks to Las Casas Foundation, the Literary Death Match will be held at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre on Saturday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. The Festival is a program of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. $10 - Mezzanine Seating

Zine Library Organized by Emily Morrison and Trouser House (New Orleans, La.)January 21 – March 5, 2011Zine Library features work by 50 zinesters from New Orleans, Austin and Mexico City. The exhibit aims to connect the art of Zine-making with the impetus for the medium—the Do-it-Yourself movement, intersocial dynamics, and issues surrounding copyright and distribution of printed matter.

Gemini Ink’s 2010 Summer Literary Festival will be held July 9 though July 25. The theme this year focuses on biomimicry which, according to the Biomimicry Institute, is “the science and art of emulating nature’s best biological ideas to solve human problems.”
