In support of arts and artists in San Antonio, ¡VIVA! A Live Telethon will take place on Saturday, May 8 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, in partnership with Luminaria, Nelco Media, and Texas Public Radio. The 6-hour telethon will be hosted by local musician Garrett T. Capps and livestreamed on the Texas Public Radio Facebook page from the Malú & Carlos Alvarez Theater & Studio, inside the Irma & Emilio Nicolas Media Center, at Texas Public Radio’s new downtown headquarters. The program will also be streamed on multiple Facebook channels, YouTube, TPR.org, and LuminariaSA.org.

RSM, an audit, tax and consulting company, will be donating 220 gently used laptop computers to local nonprofits in Austin, San Antonio and surrounding areas. The intention of the donations is to help recipients better perform their missions and serve their communities.

Alpha Home is pleased to present INSIDE ] OUT, a visual exhibition of artwork by individuals who are in recovery from drugs and alcohol. The one-night-only event will celebrate Alpha Home’s 50th Anniversary and National Recovery Month.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxSanAntonio is a local, self organized event that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. The third annual TEDxSanAntonio will be held October 13, 2012 at Trinity University's Jane and Arthur Stieren Theatre. This year, TEDxSanAntonio is inviting the nonprofit community to get involved--to speak, attend, sponsor and volunteer. This year's overall theme is "Be Bold."
