Teri Castillo and Rudy Lopez will face each other in a runoff election for the District 5 City Council seat. Interested to learn about their views and politics? The Westside Neighborhood Associations Coalition has District 5 voters covered as they will be hosting the event. It will be held outdoors at 1430 S. Florest St. on May 22, 2021. Masks, temperature checks, and social distancing will be enforced. The event will also be streaming on YouTube where you can watch it anytime, anywhere.

The 1st Annual Southside Book Fair will be held on May 16, 2021. Hosted by Live from the Southside, Scooby Van of San Antonio, and Brooster’s Backyard Icehouse, local Southside authors and other Texas authors will be featured. The book fair will showcase up to twenty authors who will be autographing and selling their books. A kid’s writing contest will be held to encourage kids to write and share their stories. The top three winners will be awarded prizes and featured in Live From the Southside Magazine.
