Rock the Plaza is a concert featuring teen musicians from Take Note, the San Antonio Music Academy, Eclectic Electric, and teens from SA schools.  This year we fuse Rock and Mariachi for the show!

Consul General Armando Ortiz-Rocha of the Mexican Consulate in San Antonio will join the Avenida Guadalupe Association in holding its annual Cinco de Mayo Commemoration on May 5 at the historic Plaza Guadalupe in the heart of San Antonio’s West Side. The Commemoration program will include brief comments from Mr. Ortiz-Rocha to guests including local students and dignitaries.

Campanas de America is a twelve-piece musical ensemble mariachi band founded in 1978 in San Antonio. Expanding in style from traditional mariachi sounds, the band also uses more diverse instruments including the accordion, keyboards, and a full drum kit. They have performed at the Presidential Hispanic Inaugural Gala in honor of the re-election of Bill Clinton, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the White House for President and Mrs. Bush, and the Hollywood Bowl.

The Office of Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Diez y Seis Commission and Downtown Operations will host it's Annual Diez y Seis Celebration and Mariachi Festival featuring local high school Mariachi groups.
