The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club and the Summer Reading Program encourage children and teens to read during the summer to maintain current reading levels. REPLAY VIDEO: Hundreds of people came to San Antonio College on Feb. 8 to attend EnrollSA, an Affordable Care Act enrollment and education event hosted by Univision 41 and many community organizations. Speakers at the event included Cecilia Muñoz, White House Director of Domestic Policy, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, U.S. Rep Joaquin Castro (D-20), U.S. Rep. Pete P. Gallego (D-23), Judge Nelson Wolff, Bexar County, and Monica Navarro, Univision 41.

As part of San Antonio's second annual College Week, all High School seniors and their families are invited to the Freeman Coliseum to attend College Signing Day. Students will sign a commitment letter to enroll in, attend and finish college. Colleges form across the country will have booths in the "College Village" for students looking for information.

A screening of First Generation, a documentary about four high school students who set out to break a cycle of poverty by pursuing a college education, will take place as part of the Mayor Castro's College Week. Students, parents, educators and community leaders are invited to the screening: It is the first time the film will be shown in Texas. A panel discussion with the film's directors will take place following the viewing.

NOWCastSA was with the DREAM Act protestors when they broke a 43-day fast at the Jefferson United Methodist Church. This video contains exclusive footage of their first meal. They were joined by San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro. The students vowed to continue fighting for the DREAM Act, which would provide a path to citizenship for undocumented people who were brought to this country as children and who spend time in school or in the military.
