Catholic Schools Week celebrates the high standard of excellence and the quality of education found in Catholic schools. It’s an education that also prepares students for a faith-based life. This annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2013 is Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. The theme for the 2013 National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.”

Girls Inc. of San Antonio is hosting its 2nd Annual Girls Empowerment Conference on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Café College from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is free and open to all girls in middle school and high school and their parents.  Registration forms are available at www.girlsincsa.com.
