The 4th Convening of the San Antonio Faith-Based Initiative featured an interactive working session facilitated by Trinity University's Dr. Christine Drennon and SA2020's Molly Cox to explore the geographical lines of division and the intentional initiatives of common good in San Antonio. The meeting was hosted by Rev. Ann E. Helmke, San Antonio's Community Faith-Based Liaison. This four-video playlist from the meeting includes the introduction, Christine Drennon's presentation, Molly Cox' presentation and the conclusion, pulling it all together.

By Edmond Ortiz San Antonians will be speaking up and representing their communities on key issues from March 9 to March 18 at the 2018 South by Southwest, the annual Austin festival that celebrates convergence of technology, music and cinema. Individuals from San Antonio nonprofits, businesses and academia are scheduled to talk about topics including diversity, health care, community organization, empowering women, minority communities, aging and entrepreneurship.

Editor's Note: This story has been updated throughout.  There will be more than San Antonian taquerias, musicians and filmmakers demonstrating their talent at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. Several local representatives from the high technology, culinary arts and educational sectors will gather in Austin to discuss how San Antonio has now become known more than a tourist town. The annual convergence of interactive technology, music and cinema begins March 10.

SA2020, the local nonprofit that’s charting San Antonio’s progress in several categories over a decade, said 41 percent of 59 target goals have been achieved or exceeded. That was one of the big takeaways from a DreamWeek luncheon held Jan. 12 at the Witte Museum’s Mays Family Center.

REPLAY THE VIDEO: NOWCastSA webcast live as the San Antonio area high school seniors who have committed to attending college celebrate their success at College Signing Day. Mayor Julian Castro kicked off the event  at St. Mary's University Greehey Arena on Friday, May 3. About 1,200 area high school seniors participated, along with mascots from local universities. The webcast and archive video was made possible by the underwriting support of SA2020 and its partners.
