Native plants and special design features can create a beautiful landscape that also creates a haven for interesting birds and butterflies.  You can start by simply putting up a birdbath or planting a fruit-bearing native shrub in your garden. It’s not difficult to be successful, and you’ll be amazed at what you’ll attract while also conserving water.

More than 120 people came to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Aug. 26 to listen and add their suggestions - some quite passionately - about how the city should redevelop the Alamo Plaza area.

On Thursday, April 3, "Phenomenon 2014" will take place at Northwest Vista College, NVC. The seminars, workshops and sessions are designed to encourage students to use thier voice for social justice.

American Indians in Texas (AIT) was founded 20 years ago in San Antonio to preserve and protect the culture and traditions of indigenous people.  In the span of two decades, AIT has sponsored or participated in several dozen Pow Wows in Texas. United San Antonio Pow Wow is a non-profit charted organization whose purpose is to promote the traditions and culture of the American Indian and enlighten the non-Indian about the history and culture of the Native Americans.

The San Antonio River Mission Descendants will host the inaugural Indigenous Peace Gathering, a peaceful gathering aimed at celebrating indigenous cultures through dance, music and a variety of guest speakers.
