Joshua Springs Park and Preserve will host this year’s Heal the Soul Train Run to Benefit Kendall County’s Women Shelter. Festivities will begin at 8 a.m. with a shot gun start. This event is suitable for the whole family. There will be a trail for both a 5k and a 10k run through the park. Non-runners can sign up for the 1.4 mile walk through the pastoral grounds. Awards will be presented to the top runners in the male, female and youth groups. This event will also feature music and face paintings, as well as pet adoptions.

According to a press release, San Antonio District 7 Councilman Cris Medina will celebrate the grand opening of a new field office, located at 4414 Centerview Dr., on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be pets available for adoption at the event for a reduced rate of $50, which includes spay/neuter services, all vaccines, microchip services, and a premium bag of dog food.
