Providence Catholic School (Providence) students were recently awarded a total of $17,000 in scholarships at the National Association of Women Business Owners San Antonio Chapter (NAWBO-SA) Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards. The Providence students were chosen for their outstanding business plans created and submitted as part of the NAWBO-SA Entrepreneurial Connections® Business Plan Teen Competition.

On Saturday, November 16, 2013 Providence Catholic School will host the inaugural fundraiser for spare parts. The event, titled V.I.P. (Very Important Party), will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Najim Campus Center, located on the campus of Providence Catholic School, 1215 North St. Mary’s.

The San Antonio Camaro Club (SACC), sponsored by Wommack Chevrolet and River City Creations & Lighting, presents the 4th Annual Autumn Classic Open Car, Truck & Cycle Show on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013. Proceeds benefit Providence Catholic School’s Broadcast Journalism and Video Technology curriculum.​ The event will take place on the Providence campus located at 1215 North St. Mary’s Street at the corner of Brooklyn and St. Mary’s.

Providence Catholic School students Isabella Rodriguez, sophomore and Madison Wilbur, junior consider their involvement in the National Hispanic Institute (NHI) a significant step in their journey to becoming accomplished and successful women.  Both students agree they are gaining valuable leadership and communications experience by participating in the programs offered for exceptionally motivated youth at NHI.

Eight Providence Catholic School students recently received the honor of qualifying for eligibility in the Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP). These bright seventh graders were recognized because of their strong intellectual abilities, scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a recent grade-level test.

Catholic Schools Week celebrates the high standard of excellence and the quality of education found in Catholic schools. It’s an education that also prepares students for a faith-based life. This annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2013 is Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. The theme for the 2013 National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.”

Providence Catholic School is excited to host the San Antonio Camaro Club’s 3rd annual car, truck and motorcycle show 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 10, 2012. The event will take place on the school campus located at 1215 North St. Mary’s Street at the corner of Brooklyn and St. Mary’s, across the street from the River Walk. There is NO CHARGE for admission and spectators are welcome to come see the hot rods, show cars, motorcycles and trucks on display. There will be vendors, contests, a raffle, food and drinks.
