The San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) has partnered with San Antonio Rise (SA Rise), an organization of teachers, school officials and community members, to present a handbook for parents and the community on how Texas Senate Bill 4 (SB4) will be applied in the school district.
At the press conference, SAISD Board President Patti Radle said, “School districts do not fall under SB4.”

The Trump administration on Wednesday rescinded guidelines issued by former President Obama that directed public schools to accommodate transgender students — a move that will do little to deter conservative leaders in Texas from moving forward with the "bathroom bill" currently in the Legislature.

Replay the video of the webcast of a community conversation with State Representative Diego Bernal about education policy in Texas on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Guadalupe Cultural Arts.
In August, Bernal published a report, “What They Said: What I Learned from Conversations with Texas Educators,” chronicling his conversations with educators from all 55 traditional public schools in House District 123.
