San Antonio residents are invited to dispose of household hazardous waste and old medications for free on Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brooks City Base, 8261 Boyle Road, 78235. Residents who need to dispose of unwanted hazardous materials such as antifreeze, motor oil, paint, pesticides, batteries, old computers or cell phones should bring a recent copy of their CPS Energy utility bill along with a picture ID to enter the event.

The San Antonio River Authority, SARA, is hosting a recycling event, April 17, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at four Goodwill Industries of San Antonio locations. The event takes place during National Environmental Education Week, preceding Earth Day.
