Under the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, the City of San Antonio will be asking residents to help define the land use and zoning in their neighborhoods and communities. To help neighborhood residents prepare to participate, this hands-on workshop was created by Chrissy Q McCain, Director of Land Use and Neighborhood Planning for City Council District 1. “We want to empower people with as much information as possible,” explained District 1 Councilman Roberto Treviño. “We’ll be working with you, not around you."

About 500 people came out for a Dignowity Neighborhood/Bowden Elementary Community Block Party celebrating the Promise Neighborhoods on April 30.The event, centered at the pavilion at the top of Lockwood Park, featured free food and family and children's activities. About 30 vendors shared information about community resources, from health to fitness, education and finance.San Antonio Councilwoman Ivy Taylor addressed the crowd and children from Bowden Elementary school made brief presentations before local musicians took to the stage.
