On Sept. 6, 2017, Mayor Ron Nirenberg and District 2 Councilman Cruz Shaw discussed issues including the removal of the Confederate monument, equity in the budget process, and spent a little time with a tamandua during of #AskRon at the San Antonio Zoo.

The formation of a long-range master plan for Brackenridge Park is nearly done, city staff told the City Council in a B session on Jan. 18. The document is meant to help integrate the park into its evolving surroundings and restore much of it to a more natural state. Preservation of historical features, and a reduction of traffic and improved parking are also goals in the plan.

San Antonio prides itself on holiday lights. Some people don’t even take their Christmas lights down after the new year. They just flick a switch when the next Christmas rolls around to celebrate another season of holiday cheer.

The San Antonio Neighborhoods and Livability Committee voted to jettison some controversial proposals from the Brackenridge Park draft master plan and sent city staff back to ask the people who use the park what they want. (Scroll down to replay video of the meeting.)
