The San Antonio Police Chief, the Bexar County Sheriff and District Attorney condemned the bill banning sanctuary policies, and were joined by C.O.P.S./Metro leaders who said they “refuse to give up a culture of hospitality and welcoming the stranger.”

A sanctuary is a place of refuge, somewhere we go to seek shelter and retreat from the world. It is a place made sacred by faith and by the promise of protection, solace and strength. A sanctuary can be a house of worship or any secular dwelling where we can be refreshed and renewed.

On April 29, 2014 Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch opened its doors so visitors could meet and learn about the more than 1,000 formerly abused, abandoned and neglected animals cared for at this sanctuary.
