Presa Community Center urgently needs your help to provide warm coats for the students who come to the center after school. Many of our students, who range in age from 5 years old to 13 years old, are coming to the center wearing clothes that are too thin to keep them warm outside.

Jerry Rodriguez, who lives in the Southtown area, took these photos while walking along the trails around the Probandt Street and Theo Avenue bridges on Aug. 10. Overcoming adversity is not easy, but for a group of Mexican-American women in San Antonio, adversity was the motivation to start a new way of life. San Antonio Latino Voices for Animal Rights (SALVAR) will hold its kickoff rally from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at Camargo Park, 5738 Castroville Road, on the South Side of San Antonio.According to event organizers:"SALVAR is holding this rally on the South Side to celebrate Latinos' willingness to tackle animal rights issues head-on.
