Sometimes great things come in small packages. Take for instance the award-winning Spare Parts MINI ART MUSEUM (MAM). The mini museum concept sprang from the artistically fertile imagination of teacher and artist Gabriella Santiago, and Spare Parts founder and director Mary Elizabeth Cantú.

Local nonprofit/collective, 10BitWorks, is interested in providing area makers and artists with access to digital manufacturing technology. The key piece in a recent effort is a high-tech, industrial-grade laser cutter. 10BitWorks is excited to announce a fundraising initiative to purchase a laser cutter for the local maker/creative community.

PreK-12 grade teachers, children, parents and artists will celebrate arts education and the environment at the 4th annual Fine Arts Fair on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wonderland of the Americas, The public is invited to participate in the Fine Arts Fair activities including: enjoying music, engaging in art activities, visiting the award-winning spare parts MINI ART MUSEUM, taking a picture with Spurs Jesus and supporting local artists as they sell their arts and crafts.

On Saturday, November 16, 2013 Providence Catholic School will host the inaugural fundraiser for spare parts. The event, titled V.I.P. (Very Important Party), will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Najim Campus Center, located on the campus of Providence Catholic School, 1215 North St. Mary’s.
