The 1st Annual Southside Book Fair will be held on May 16, 2021. Hosted by Live from the Southside, Scooby Van of San Antonio, and Brooster’s Backyard Icehouse, local Southside authors and other Texas authors will be featured. The book fair will showcase up to twenty authors who will be autographing and selling their books. A kid’s writing contest will be held to encourage kids to write and share their stories. The top three winners will be awarded prizes and featured in Live From the Southside Magazine.

Each year since 2012, Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc. (MHM) has awarded funds to NOWCastSA to support projects that democratize local health data. NOWCastSA has used these funds funds to enrich the local information ecosystem with more than 50 health data and information projects, including live webcasts and video productions, community asset maps, stories and even a student journalism training program.
