The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) and In the Eye of the Beholder Art Gallery are hosting this event to celebrate culture, history, music, and art in San Antonio. This weekend long event will begin Friday, June 17 and continue through Sunday, June 19 at Comanche Park #2. There will be food, various local vendors, and guest musical artists at the event. On Friday, there will be a fish fry and health fair to kick off the festival. Saturday will have a parade beginning at Sam Houston High School, and Sunday will have a Gospel in the park. Southside San Antonio nonprofit Fuerza Unida invites the community to gather in solidarity with the families of the Robb Elementary School tragedy, which killed 19 students and 2 teachers on May 24th, 2022. Individuals will gather on June 9th at 7pm in front of Fuerza Unida’s location to provide support for each other and honor the lives of those that were lost in the shooting.

Join a nationwide group of marches in support of common sense gun laws. Sutherland Springs and Uvalde, locations of two of the deadliest mass shootings in Texas history, are within 45 minutes of San Antonio. Don't wait for a tragedy like this to reach your part of town before acting.

Saturday, June 4th, at 10 a.m. Voto Latino will be leading a community gathering of religious leaders, elected officials, local and national organizations, and advocates at Travis Park to remember the victims and stand in support with all those affected by the senseless tragedy that took place at Robb Elementary in Uvalde.   View the flyer below for more information:

San Antonio Parks and Recreation is celebrating Earth Day 2022 at Woodlawn Lake Park (1103 Cincinnati Ave) on Saturday, April 23 from 10am-2pm. Get outside, create, explore and celebrate environmental stewardship. This free, fun-filled event will feature over 50 environmental organizations, hands-on family activities, free tree adoptions, engaging poetry, storytelling, dance and musical performances.

San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department officials announced the annual park curfew will be lifted at selected City parks for the Easter holiday. Park curfew will be lifted beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 and will resume at 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 17. Overnight camping allowed at the following City Parks:

The 40th Annual Ford Holiday River Parade is a San Antonio tradition that offers a spectacular one-hour parade along the San Antonio River Walk. The 2021 theme, 40 Years of Magic, features illuminated floats and costumed parade participants. This ticketed parade begins Friday, November 26, 2021 at 6 p.m. and is broadcast live at 7 p.m. at the Arneson River Theatre.
