Nearly 200 neighborhood residents attended the 3rd annual Neighborhood Day hosted by the Bowen Center for Neighborhood Advocacy on June 9 at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church. The event encourages residents to come together to get information and discuss ideas to make better neighborhoods.

If you're like me, you don't dig the chain food spots in San Antonio. You want to find the greasiest spoon, the best hole-in-the-wall Mexican food and the best burger.You'll get a chance for the latter this Saturday, July 16, at the 2nd Annual All-American Burger Festival. The event, billed as a celebration of food, art and music, will be held on the city's East side and is an all-ages event. The festival will be held on the 1600 block of Commerce Street between Olive and Pine streets.

Sipping champagne, cheering and dancing, about 300 people celebrated the launching of San Antonio's newest radio station, KROV-FM, as it broadcast its first official song and its station identification in the parking lot of its new offices. KROV 91.7FM-HD2 launched on a sunny, warm Sunday, Feb. 27 with the playing of a duet of Michael Jackson and Akon singing "Hold My Hand," a recently-released song recorded before Jackson's death in 2009.
