(SAN ANTONIO, TX) Southwest Workers Union (SWU) is hosting a Blessing of the Tricentennial Mural on Tuesday May 1st from 6 pm to 9pm at 1416 E. Commerce. The mural is a partnership with San Anto Cultural Arts and American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions, and an official part of the City of San Antonio’s Tricentennial Events.

Bihl Haus Arts hosts “Fred Sings: San Antonio Jazz Songbirds,” a Women’s History Month/Tricentennial Celebration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 4 at Bihl Haus Arts, 2803 Fredericksburg Road. Admission is free. Sponsored by KRTU 91.7 FM and organized by Beverly Prado in honor of Women’s History Month SA and the Tricentennial, "San Antonio Jazz Songbirds" features well-known San Antonio vocalists Joan Carroll, MiChelle Garibay-Carey and Jacqueline Sotelo.

Bexar County is hosting a Tricentennial Symposium of Spanish Colonial historians in conjunction with the Nuestra Historia - Our History: Spain in Bexar County exhibit. Experts from Texas, New Mexico and Mexico will share papers highlighting Spain's encounter with the New World (the Indies) and the indigenous cultures of Coahuila and Texas.
