The 700,000 Dreamers in the United States have held their breath for the past three years, expecting the worst from the U.S. Supreme Court after the Trump administration said it would end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

The session is to help undocumented students, immigrant advocates and the parents and families understand what services they can expect or ask for as students navigate the pathway to college. Public schools must serve all children including undocumented students. Under federal law, state and local educational agencies are required to provide all children with equal access to public education at the elementary and secondary level.

The President’s executive action on Nov. 20, 2014 created the Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) program, which provides for temporary relief from deportation and possible work authorization to undocumented parents of U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.
