With freezing temperatures on the way, Animal Care Services (ACS) urges residents to take steps to protect their four-legged family members from the cold and wet weather that fall and winter often bring. With a few simple precautions, they can ensure their pets stay happy and healthy throughout the colder months of the year.

The temperature remains at or near the freezing level in the San Antonio area and another round of precipitation is expected overnight and into the early morning hours. As the temperature continues to drop, the San Antonio Fire Department would like you to keep the following safety tips in mind: Protect the “4 Ps” – People, Pets, Plants & Pipes People - People should stay indoors or be dressed in multiple layers when outdoors. Pets – Pets should be brought indoors or placed in a warm, protected area outside.
