With freezing temperatures on the way, Animal Care Services (ACS) urges residents to take steps to protect their four-legged family members from the cold and wet weather that fall and winter often bring. With a few simple precautions, they can ensure their pets stay happy and healthy throughout the colder months of the year.

The Natural Bridges Caverns is celebrating this holiday season with Christmas carols, campfires, a reindeer maze, and much s’more. The fun and festivities will begin on December 1 and end on December 23. Activities are scheduled throughout the day, from 4:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary. Bubby’s Jewish Soul Food recently reopened and, in celebration of the holiday season, is hosting a Hanukkah community party, on December 18. You can sample sweet and savory foods like latkes and sufganiyot. Feel free to bring your own menorah—and beverage of choice. There will be a community candle lighting. Other activities include Bubby’s 1st annual dreidel tournament, not to mention an ugly Hannukahh sweater contest. The Baptist Children's Hospital at North Central will host their annual Winterfest 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December. According to their website, the event "is a long-running community Festival where thousands of local residents come out with the family to enjoy a day of fun in the SNOW! A portion of the proceeds from WinterFest will go to help kids with disabilities or delays and their families at Brighton Center including therapy, education, support and childcare." Activities include: • 50,000 pounds of snow straight from the North Pole!

Here in Texas, what are the holidays without tamales? Fun 4 Alamo Kids is hosting their fourth annual Tamales Festival this Saturday, December 3, 2022, and continues the following day, Sunday, December 4. On both days, the event will start at 10:00 a.m. and last until 6:00 p.m. It is geared toward children, but there is something for everyone to enjoy, including live music and entertainment. The Tamales Festival is also pet friendly. If interested, the event is set to take place at 7701 FM-1346, San Antonio, Texas.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is, without a doubt, a classic. From Dr. Seuss's children’s book to its film adaptations, it is equal parts heartwarming as it is humorous. This holiday season, however, the story is reimagined as a musical. It features all the original songs like You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch but unlike you have ever seen it before.
