Tier One Neighborhood Coalition members met to learn about proposed changes to San Antonio's Land Use categories. More than 40 people from about 22 neighborhoods came to the meeting at San Antonio College. As part of the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, city planners have proposed new land use categories that they say should be applied consistently, across the city.

The Tier 1 Neighborhood Coalition sponsored a seminar on the proposed zoning ordinance that would govern so-called "infill development" or projects built on vacant or abandoned lots. Scroll down to watch complete video of the event. Representatives from 22 neighborhoods across six council districts attended the event. The seminar on June 16, 2018 at Lift Fund, was the first preview of the proposed Infill Development Zoning (IDZ) ordinance by the IDZ Taskforce.

This board hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of the Unified Development Code (UDC), Chapter 35 of the San Antonio, Texas Code of Ordinances.

Neighbors heard about a victory for the Neighborhood Conservation District plan, got a preview of the Midtown Master Plan Process and heard about the Brackenridge Park Community Cat Project at the June 20, 2017 meeting of the Mahncke Park Neighborhood Association. MNPA Board Secretary Camis Milam said she attended the June 19 meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and testified against three of the five variances sought by the DSW Construction Co., which proposed building 45 two- and three-story town homes near the southeast corner of East Mulberry and Tendick.

Updated: After hearing testimony from 26 residents, the San Antonio Zoning Commission voted 6-1 on May 17 to deny a request by Tobin Hill North neighbors to be designated a Historic District. The move also rejected the recommendation by city staff that the panel approve the historic designation or grant a continuance.

Update: The matter was rejected by the San Antonio Zoning Commission on May 17. Click here for story and video. The issue now moves to San Antonio City Council. On April 4, more than 50 residents from Tobin Hill and other nearby neighborhoods met with city officials and their councilman for a spirited conversation about whether 88 properties should be covered by Historic Designation.

When Beacon Hill Area Neighborhood Association filed a routine appeal of the city’s zoning for a Stripes convenience store and gas station at Fredericksburg Road and Woodlawn Avenue, the developer's response shocked them. Association members said the developer, GFR Development Services, sent emails threatening to file a lawsuit against them unless they dropped the appeal.
