Downtown National Night Out

Downtown Residents Association will host National Night Out from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the base of the Tower of the Americas at HemisFair Park.

National Night out is a crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. Neighborhoods across the country come together to celebrate community and foster relationships to prevent crime. Locally, the plan for this year’s celebration is to ask all downtown communities to depart from pre-decided meeting spots and walk to the arch of HemisFair Park so that all participants arrive at 7 p.m. From the arch, the group will walk, en masse, through the park to the base of the Tower of the Americas.

Downtown National Night Out is free and open to the public. Enjoy music by The Next Day rock band. Everyone is welcome to bring food, non-alcoholic beverages, blankets and chairs. Food and drinks will also be available for sale. Please bring along a can of food for the San Antonio Food Bank. An after-party for ages 21 and older will begin at 9:30 p.m. at Estilo Whiskey River Saloon with happy hour drink specials.
