Bark in the Park/Perrito Grito

The San Antonio Area Foundation's Talk About It! SA Bark in the Park/Perrito Grito will take place on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Woodlawn Park, 1103 Cincinnati Avenue. Please join us for a day of fun in the sun with pets, friends, and family. Admission to the event is FREE!

There will be tons to do at this event so be prepared to have a lot of fun. Some of the events that will be going on are:

  • Pet Adoptions from San Antonio rescue groups and local shelters
  • Low cost pet vaccinations onsite, provided by Pet Shotz Inc.
  • FREE spay/neuter surgeries (be at Woodlawn Park at 7 a.m. for the lottery) provided by SNAP
  • Vet Q&A: ask a local veterinarian pet questions
  • Local businesses: pet-friendly landscaping, carpet cleaners, flooring providers, fencing providers, groomers, etc
  • Pet contests: best dressed, coolest trick, mutt strutt, and look-a-like, with celebrity judges. Register for contest that day.
  • FREE nail clippings, provided by Lucy’s Doggy Daycare
  • Local food vendors: aguas frescas, fruit cups, Tin Can Taco, Wheelie Gourmet etc.
  • Live music featuring Roger Velasquez and the Latin Legends
  • Video Contest: “Love at First Lick”

All participants that have their pet spay/neutered, vaccincated, or adopt a pet at Bark in the Park/Perrito Grito will receive a FREE Talk About It! SA collar and dog tag, while supplies last. The Talk About It! SA team is extremely excited at how the San Antonio community has come together in support of the Animal No Kill initiative. Over 15 community business partners from carpet cleaning, fencing, to pet landscaping will be in attendance. There will also be over 20 local area nonprofit organizaitons in attendance as well.
