The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture invites media to explore two new exhibits at Centro de Artes Gallery, located in San Antonio’s Historic Market Square.
On the first floor, artist Leila Hernández’s exhibit La Visa Negra 2.5: Tendiendo los Trapitos al Sol features sustainable, recycled artworks that reflect on the cultural crossover between South Texas and Northern Mexico.
On the second floor, artist Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo's The Euphoric Dance of the Unconquered Mind is a series of textured oil paintings of Mexika dancers that celebrate the continued tradition of Indigenous dance ceremony.
The exhibits will be free and open to the public starting August 9, 2022 and will be on display to December 30, 2022.
