Diabetes Without Borders: South Texas Health Care Luncheon

Improving healthcare and wellness in the workplace is a top priority for San Antonio businesses. The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Dr. Ralph DeFronzo, world-renowned diabetes researcher based in San Antonio. Dr. DeFronzo attended Yale, graduated from the Harvard Medical School, and has earned numerous prestigious awards. Additionally, he has over 400 publications highlighting his research to improve day-to-day treatment of people who suffer from diabetes. Also, a special presentation will be given by Mexico's Minister of Health, Dr. Salomon Chertorivski. This presentation will address the modern trend of combining newer drugs to tackle obesity and diabetes, which have caused hyperglycemic effects and weight loss to those throughout the border region and Mexico. The Honorable Leticia Van de Putte will provide a brief update on current health legislation related to the demographics of South Texas and our State's efforts to improve health in the workplace.
