"In partnership with the City's Department of Planning and Community Development and with the generous support of Wells Fargo, Mayor Ivy R. Taylor welcomes you to join the housing community to discuss the state of the current housing market, learn about the challenges in housing production, and engage with policy makers and housing providers to maximize resources and develop strategies to connect all San Antonians to opportunity.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “Practical Strategies for Community Building,” the Professional Development Day on Tuesday, May 23rd will offer training modules for government officials, nonprofit employees, private sector individuals and neighborhood association board members.
The Professional Development Day is providing our local housing community the opportunity to earn continuing education credits that will help them develop their skills and bring about innovative housing solutions.
The roundtable session on Wednesday, May 24 will cover the following topics finance and funding; homelessness; innovation and sustainability; neighborhoods; and policy.
Our keynote luncheon speaker is Ellen Dunham-Jones, a world-renowned expert on urban and suburban design.
Her keynote address will explore the importance and benefits of creating sustainable communities while addressing inequality through the implementation of SA Tomorrow.
A Family Friendly "Abridged" version will be available on Saturday, June 3 to catch citizens up on the topics and discussions.
