Since 1992, Project QUEST (Quality Employment Through Skills Training), Inc. has gained national recognition as a workforce intermediary and economic development strategy. QUEST assists adults in long-term training and the education needed to fill San Antonio’s demand-driven career-track occupations that pay living wages and benefits. QUEST is part of the Mayor’s SA2020 initiative.
Project Quest is hosting an inaugural 5K fundraising event on May 11, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. at the picturesque Mission Reach River Trail.
The registration fee will be $30 through April 21, $35 April 22 through May 10, or $40 on Race Day. The registration for students and QUEST graduates will be $25. Scholarships are available for a limited number of qualified participants. Registration ensures a T-shirt, goody bag, snacks, refreshments and a chance to win a medal in your age group. All donations are tax deductable, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Project QUEST, which helps San Antonio adults attain job training skills for a living wage.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three overall male and female winners in the following age groups: 15 and under, 15- 25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65, 66-75, 75 and over.
The chip-timed race will start and end at Concepcion Park (400 E. Theo Ave.) Offsite parking and shuttle service will be available at the Andy Mireles Center, 301 E. Mitchell and the Frank Tejeda Center, 235 E. Mitchell.

The QUEST 4 Success 5K Fun Run/Walk allows corporate sponsors, community organizations, friends and family to ensure that disadvantaged San Antonio residents will continue to be given an opportunity to enhance their educational and occupational skills, secure stable employment, and move towards economic self-sufficiency.
Quest 4 Success will raise funds for Project QUEST to improve the welfare of vulnerable and undeserved population of San Antonio through enabling earning of marketable post-secondary credentials in demand-driven occupations that lead to a living wage, thus breaking the cycle of inter-generational poverty.
