Register today for the 3rd Annual Run for the Heights, a 5K Run/Walk, Kids’ Fun Run, and Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. at Tuscany Heights Elementary, 25001 Wilderness Oak.
Last year over 900 people from the San Antonio community participated in Run for the Heights. This year promises to offer participants and spectators another fun and exciting morning of health and wellness!
The event will kick-off at 7:45 a.m. with Pre-Race Warm-Ups by iRun Texas, followed by the Opening Ceremony with emcee, Delaine Mathieu, WOAI News Anchor/Reporter. Kids of all ages will start at 8:05 a.m. by running the 3/4 mile Fun Run. The chip-timed 5K follows at 8:30 a.m. and offers runners and walkers a challenging and hilly course that winds through the neighboring streets. In addition to the races, you can visit a variety of health and fitness related businesses at the Health Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. One of the key sponsors, North Central Baptist Hospital, will offer free screenings of Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index, Glucose, and Cholesterol. During the event, there will be fitness demonstrations by Stone Oak CrossFit, Victory Martial Arts, and Acrobatic Gymnastics of San Antonio (AGSA). All proceeds from Run for the Heights benefits the Tuscany Heights Elementary PTA, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
