San Antonio River Authority Public Meeting


San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) are seeking input on the design options for Archaeological Site 41BX2359, located at the southwest corner of Houston Street and Camaron Street on Phase 1.2 of the San Pedro Creek Culture Park. The River Authority and USACE will host two public meetings – on February 4 and 16 – to provide citizens with an opportunity to learn about the archaeological discoveries and provide feedback on the site’s design.

San Pedro Creek Culture Park is part of the San Antonio Channel Improvement Project (SACIP), a USACE federally-authorized Civil Works project, subject to Section 408. The USACE is soliciting comments from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; federally recognized tribes; and other interested parties in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

For those unable to attend the public virtual meetings, the meetings will be recorded and made available on the San Pedro Creek Culture Park website for viewing during the public comment

period. The River Authority will mail printed materials to members of the public that do not have access to a computer or the internet. Requests for printed materials can be made by calling Nicole Marshall at 210-302-3252. Members of the public can also pick up materials at the River Authority’s main office at 100 E. Guenther Street between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday from now until March 8, 2021.
