San Antonio Youth Ballet invites the community to enjoy it's production of the holiday classic The Nutcracker. A cast of 50 dancers from as far as Georgetown, Canyon Lake, and Bulverde will perform for two audiences on December 14th and 15th, with special cameo from District 2 Councilman William "Cruz" Shaw and wife, former ballerina, Michelle Shaw.
Go on a journey to magical kingdoms - meeting snowflakes and sugar plum fairies on a fantastic journey with Clara and her Toy Soldier. The Nutcracker will be a perfect evening for the entire family.
Choreographer Husan Hopuy formerly of Ballet San Antonio, who also worked closely with Ballet Latino de San Antonio, is recognized most for adding Cuban elements to his direction that celebrates the diversity among the performers. This full production of a seasonal favorite will engulf the audience in a story of wonder, mystery, and fairy tales (literally).
San Antonio Youth Ballet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to sharing the art of ballet to all youth . The studio's director, Danielle Steans, is first San Antonio's only fully-certified American Ballet Theatre Instructor.
