Celebrating Kathleen Trenchard's current exhibition, “Yearnings: An Intersection of the Trivial and Tragic Planes,” a Buddhist burial paper installation, with her Tea Ceremony and Gallery Talk Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The idea behind Kathleen Trenchard’s exhibition began 30 years ago, and has finally come together to be placed on display for the first time! In this installation, the elaborate paper garments are metaphors for the timeless continuity and recycling of life and death. The installation highlights the beauty of these hand-made, cottage industry creations displayed in a symbolic setting.
Trenchard’s exhibit also intentionally follows on the heels of Dia de los Muertos celebrations to share the idea that traditions celebrating death are a common theme across cultures and time periods.
This event is FREE to the public, but you can also find TICKETS here on eventbrite.
