Bexar County is hosting a Tricentennial Symposium of Spanish Colonial historians in conjunction with the Nuestra Historia - Our History: Spain in Bexar County exhibit. Experts from Texas, New Mexico and Mexico will share papers highlighting Spain's encounter with the New World (the Indies) and the indigenous cultures of Coahuila and Texas.
Teachers attending the symposium will receive a Certificate of Attendance to submit to school administrators for six clock hours credit of in-service training in social studies. The symposium is free and open to the public, but participants should pre-register online. The full schedule of speakers also is online.
