Physically more vulnerable and more likely to be caretakers than men, women faced special challenges during the Holocaust. Offsetting these weaknesses, women were also more likely to band together to support one another in the camps and ghettos. Several examples of women surviving the Holocaust in concentration camps, in the ghetto, and in hiding will be presented.
